Michael Montgomery has been a correspondent and producer for American RadioWorks since 1999. As the lead producer in "The Promise of Justice" series, Montgomery has a proven track record in conducting large-scale investigations and documentary projects. A former foreign correspondent, Montgomery has reported on human rights, justice and security issues from Africa, Latin America, Europe and the United States. His long experience in the Balkans includes: Fulbright Scholar in Belgrade (1987-89); Balkans Correspondent, The Daily Telegraph (1989-1995); public broadcasting consultant, Sarajevo (1996); Correspondent/Producer, "Massacre at Cuska, Burning the Evidence" (1999-2002). In addition to American RadioWorks, Montgomery’s radio stories and investigative reports have aired on NPR shows such as "All Things Considered," the CBC and the BBC. His print work on the Balkans has appeared in the Boston Review, Los Angeles Times and Time magazine. Montgomery is the recipient of the highest honors in U.S. broadcast journalism, including a DuPont-Columbia Gold Baton for "Massacre at Cuska." He is a fluent speaker of Serbo-Croatian.
